On the Barkrota Hills with the Pir Panjal range and valleys in its backyard, a stay at Dalhousie Retreat means a vacation in blissful solitude conducive to appreciating the loveliness around. The cottage offers a completely independent stay with two bedrooms and a den with a pull-out bed allowing either a single family or group to comfortably stay together. The living area has a lovely fireplace, the kitchen is fully equipped and the patio and front garden are ideal for barbecues and bonfires. The nearest restaurant is a four minute walk, although the retreat also arranges for a local cook during the stay. The forest reserves of Kala-tope, Dain Kund - a ridge trail en-route to a temple shrine, and the many forest and mountain walks are some of the appealing sojourns around. And Dalhousie is also a gateway to Chambal Valley that is well known for its ancient Hindu culture and is home to Gaddi and Gujjar tribes.
